Since Braden went to the dentist two months ago and discovered he had a loose tooth (yes, the dentist had to tell him it was loose), he has been so excited to have Daddy pull it out. I have no idea why--must be some strange male bonding type of thing. Well, this morning just happened to be the morning. He was very brave. What kid on the face of the earth would let their dad pull their tooth with a pair of pliers! Braden even went and got the pliers out for Brent to use.

It only took two yanks with the pliers and Braden had his very first lost tooth! He was so happy. I'm not sure if you can see the pliers in the bottom right corner of the picture with the tooth still clasped between, but there you have it!
And here is Braden's first toothless picture! Isn't he adorable?
As far as other moment

ous events this week we have: Camden hit his head again and now has a knot and a cut on his forehead, or poorhead as he calls it. Allison finished her school work on time twice this week (a major accomplishment for her!) Savanna learned a new crochet stitch, and Brent learned what a skein is. And, Brent's little sister Lindsay got engaged! I think that Lindsay's news is probably the most momentous, and we are really excited for her and Dustin. We just hope that they decide to move to Texas and leave Florida behind one of these days! When I told Brent that Lindsay was getting married, his reply was "to who?" I thought that the girls would be super excited when I told them, but they fell on the floor and groaned "Oh no! Now Lindsay won't be able to come and babysit us!" And you know, that thought had crossed my mind too! :) We are all very happy for both of them!
We also got a new water filter this last week. It is a Berkey water filter and is amazing. It

can even filter out fluoride which hardly any filter can do. I can finally enjoy drinking water again. I haven't really drank water since we moved to Texas, and anyone who has visited us knows why! Who wants to drink water that smells? Brent has been telling the kids about all of the harmful things that are in our drinking water. Well, apparently Braden Jon has taken every word to heart. He wouldn't take the water during sacrament today because it wasn't from our filter. It was pretty amusing.
The big news as far as our new baby goes is that I am down to 5 weeks and weekly Dr. appointments--yuck. Brent also tried to buy off the naming rights to our son this week. He came pretty close too. He bought me the most beautiful ruby necklace and bracelet to match the ruby ring that he bought me earlier in the year. They are beautiful, but I was strong, and I haven't caved in yet. I'm just not sold on Dryden. . . but it is beginning to grow on me. . . don't tell Brent, though!
The last picture is from our trip to UT back in May, but I think it is a perfect Sunday picture!
So what is your name pick for the baby?
ReplyDeleteI like Mason, Ashton, Easton or Preston. But Brent says that my names aren't strong or manly enough!
ReplyDeleteSo funny! After seeing Brent with the pliers, I don't feel so bad about Randy pulling teeth with hemostats.
ReplyDeleteI also have to try very hard not to make a bad face after drinking the water during church. I keep wanting to remember to take bottled water for the sacrament, but you know how Sunday mornings can be. We have been drinking bottled water since we first moved to Texas in 1995. It sure would be nice to have a water filter. Congrats!
p.s. Randy says that the only Preston that he ever knew was the man who built our house. He was definitely NOT a sissy--and he owned guns and a big truck! I'd go for Preston.
