Christmas morning dawned entirely too bright and early this year! Allison and Braden were up around 5, but thankfully were willing to stay in their room until closer to 7. Brent and I decided that we would torment the kids this year and make them eat breakfast before we opened presents. Of course they were allowed to look in their stockings and see their Santa present. We had everyone help make french toast and sausage and juice. The kids rushed through theirs while Brent and I enjoyed our breakfast--at least I enjoyed it at that precise moment. After breakfast we commenced with the big event. Well, most of us did. I spent most of the time deathly ill in the bathroom. I will NEVER eat sausage again in my entire life!
Here are some of the best pictures. They are necessarily the best as they are just about all there are!
Dryden LOVES his pillow pet which we knew he would since he picked it out and loved it then!
Savanna was ecstatic with her new wooden numchucks that Allison picked out for her.
Allison and Camden were both enthralled with the Bendaroos.
Camden was very happy to see a REAL explorer set. His vest and jacket are both Junior Ranger articles and the binoculars just topped it all off!
Oh, and did I mention that all of the kids received pocket knives for Christmas? I'm not sure what Santa was thinking! It only took Camden 2 hours to cut himself. He was very brave and didn't even cry. He didn't understand why we had taken it away because as he declared, "I didn't cut ALL of myself!"
He did get his knife back later that day...and he cut himself once again. He ran in to have Brent fix it up again with the running declaration, "I cut myself again, but I'm...[sniff]...not...[sob]...crying!" It was pretty funny! Once we figured out the user error we haven't had any other problems!
Later that day we went over to Grandma Lee's house to spend the afternoon with her and the cousins. Camden is decked out and ready to go. His Buzz Lightyear pajamas (which are for both day and night wear according to Camden) along with his Jr. Ranger hat, binoculars case full of junk (aka treats) and his 7 pack of new underwear!
We had a very enjoyable afternoon and an absolutely delicious dinner. It was a wonderful day!
