The kids had their first belt test last night for Karate. They were so nervous beforehand, but they all did great! Braden tried his "very hardest" (his words) and did quite well. The blocks that they had to know were quite tricky, and he did an excellent job on them. There were a couple of times that he got a little mixed up, but I really hope that he passed. He will be super sad if he didn't. We have tried to prepare him that he might need another month to practice before he is really ready to move on to the next belt, but he was so proud of his performance last night that I really think he will be crushed if the girls move on and he doesn't. We won't find out the results until the next class on Monday when they will be presented with their new belts--if they passed! The suspense is killing me!
My dear friend Heather watched Camden while I was at the belt test with the other kids. Brent had an Eagle Court of Honor to take care of so he wasn't able to be there. Before we left for Heather's house Braden was telling Camden all about the dog and the 2 cats that were there. Here's his explanation of the dog: "Ok Camden. The dog is a chihuahua, and it is very small, but it has very sharp teeth that will bite you. So, just leave the dog alone." From that point on all Camden would say is "I hate chihuahuas!" And as soon as we pulled up to the door he freaked out as soon as he heard the dog. He was pretty downright scared of all the animals pretty much the whole time. They all had to be put away for most of the time he was there.
