We have had so much fun this last weekend. Brent's little sister Lindsay and her fiance Dustin came to visit us. The kids have never had so much fun in their entire lives! Soon to be Uncle Dustin was a big hit! In fact, I believe that he might be Braden's favorite person in the entire world. Braden was talking about how he was going to play Mario Kart with Uncle Dustin and maybe even with that girl that he was going to marry! Pretty funny if you ask me. Lindsay and Dustin had to leave early this morning, and Braden came out of his room crying this morning "They're gone!! I've looked everywhere, and they're gone!!" He was pretty broken up over the whole thing. We sure wish that they lived closer to us, but at least 12 hours is a doable drive.

We went to the State Fair on Friday for several hours. It is a good thing that we had Grandpa and Lindsay and Dustin there. It was packed, and I most certainly would have lost a child or two without them. Grandpa had to leave right after we got home from the fair. It was nice to have him around to take the kids out for smoothies and tacos. I am pretty sure that they all earned their VIP passes to the snack bar at Sam's. It was definitely nice for me since I was able to catch up on some much needed sleep.

Dryden is doing much better at night. He doesn't cry all night long because his stomach hurts. Giving up dairy has done the trick. Hopefully now he will learn to lengthen out the time in between those feedings. Then we will be doing great. He is awake a lot more often now, and he really looks like he wants to smile. Can't wait for those little smiles. Those are the best. He is growing so quickly, though, that it almost makes me sad. My last little baby is growing too quickly. He won't be a little baby too much longer.

While we were all having a great time with our company, Brent was quarantined to his bedroom for four days. We were positive that he had the flu since he had those "flu-like symptoms". However, the flu tests came back negative. He had a miserable virus. He hasn't been that sick in over 10 years. Dryden and I slept on the couches in the living room all weekend. We are very excited to move back to our room tonight! Thankfully no one else has gotten it, and hopefully we can all avoid all other illnesses for the rest of the year!

  1. And after a very busy weekend, Shauna brought over three hot loaves of homemade bread and the world's most delicious strawberry jam for our family. I cried as soon as I saw her. It sure was wonderful to have her as a friend and support while we were both pregnant over the summer. Thank you Shauna!
