Funny Little Boy

You just never know what Camden will come up with. He keeps everyone full of smiles. We have recently (within the last four or five months) discovered the joy of itunes--I know. We are so behind the times. Consequently our music consumption has skyrocketed. You just never know what your kids are going to absorb and apparently our favorite music selections have now become Camden's. We regularly sing to our kids before bed and tonight Camden requested Breakfast at Tiffany's!

Camden also LOVES LOVES LOVES science. We are studying about aquatic animals and while I read and the girls take notes the boys cut and color and paste. Camden has the most amazing hand coordination for a three year old boy. Some of his cutouts look better than the girls! Every morning without fail he asks if today is science. If it happens to be a Sat-Tue and the response is no it is followed with some pretty serious whining.

Our funny little guy loves to practice knife fighting with his dad. We ahve some plastic training knives, and a couple of days ago Camden was showing off his moves. He has the perfect stance--I'll have to get a picture of that. He was showing me what he had learned and what he was going to do with dad when he got home from work. Imagine three year old in perfect fighting stance with his practice knife doing thrusts while saying "I can go like this and get him in the head and then like this and get him in the leg. I can slash. I can stab. I can get his forehead." Camden repeated the monologue to Brent when he got home. Camden threw in another one at the end, however. "And I can stab up like this dad." Camden just happened to be at just the right height to him him in just the right spot. Pretty funny.

And last but not least in honor of our aquatic studies we had a very special lunch today. We had squid dogs. Camden thought it was the best thing he had ever had in his life. What could be better than hot dogs with spaghetti legs? Well, Braden wasn't quite as impressed. He would surreptitiously pull the legs off of his squid dog and then nibble around the rest of it. After a while he finally said, "Mom, can you please stop all of this nonsense." Obviously someone doesn't have a very good imagination! Once again, pretty funny.
