Allison's Birthday Party

I can't believe that my little girl is 11!!!  Well, technically she isn't 11 for another 10 days, but who is counting! Allison really wanted to have a birthday party last year, but I was in no condition to plan or host a party.  My 9 month belly would not have put up with that.  So, we decided to have a shin dig to celebrate Allison's big day.  We decided to have it early so that Grandma Rigby would be here.  It got even better since our super good friends the Johnston's were also in town and able to come!!  It was such a fun night!
We decided to have a glow in the dark party.  We had to post pone the party by a day because of the rain, but Saturday dawned bright and beautiful, and we were ready to go.  The party began at 7:00pm so that everyone could roast their hot dogs and marshmallows and paint their craft project.  The real fun began when the sun began to go down.  That is when all of the glow in the dark items came out.  We had glow sticks and bracelets and little flashlights.  The kids had a great time just running around and playing tag and football in the dark.  The fire was still going and provided a nice setting.  It really was a whole lot of fun.  For dessert we had cupcakes and sugar popcorn--and oh did we have a lot of popcorn!  It was our main decoration so there had to be a lot of it.
Braden had a great day.  He got to skin himself a knife (use a knife to shave a stick for those of you who don't speak Braden!)
We bought a fire pit so that we could roast hot dogs and marshmallows before it got dark.

Ashley and Allison have been the best of friends since they were 3!!  The miles can't separate them!

Savanna, Alex and Emily are painting their boxes with glow in the dark paint.

Jazer is making himself a little something to eat while everyone else is waiting for the sun to set and the fun to begin.

Our best friends in the whole world!

Allison's friends were overly generous.  I have never seen a kid with so much money.  I really thought about having her give some of the money back!  I felt bad!
We had so much fun at Allison's party that I am pretty sure we know what Braden's birthday party will be too!
