I can't believe that my sweet little girl is 9!! We had a GREAT day. Savanna wanted to go to the zoo--well, really she wanted to go to Chuck E. Cheese, but I said no. The zoo was definitely a close runner up (I'm sure!). Anyway, we packed an awesome picnic. At our house if it includes soda pop then it qualifies as The BEST Ever! I know. Either I deprive my children or they are easily pleased. We just happened to be at the zoo the day they did the ribbon cutting ceremony for the new Giants of Savanna exhibit. We were able to wander around and see the animals without crowds of people. It was wonderful! After an enjoyable morning at the zoo we came home and watched a movie--strategically placed in the middle of the day so that I could take a nap! Then it was time to get busy! Savanna chose pudding pies for her birthday dessert which was wonderful in every way. First of all they are so very simple, and second, they are so very simple that I don't even have to make them! Savanna and Allison took care of the pudding pies and then sweet Savanna even made the cupcakes to take to Karate class that night. I was off the hook completely! Oh, and even better, Savanna wanted to eat at Taco Bell for her birthday dinner. I offered to cook her anything that she wanted, but Taco Bell it was!! Not only was it an enjoyable day for Savanna but for Mom too!
