Baby Update

I went in for an ultrasound.  It was Allison's turn to come with me, and I'm glad that she did.  She is very friendly and inquisitive and kept the tech talking the whole time.  I was miserable the whole time.  The baby was sitting in such a position that she was cutting off all blood flow to my brain (she must do that frequently with all of the memory problems I'm having!).  Needless to say that I almost passed out...lying down!  The tech had to stop and find a fan and some cold water for me before she could proceed with the ultrasound.

The good news is that despite Braden's prayers and claims that the last ultrasound tech could have made a mistake and that we really are having a boy, we are still having a girl.

The bad news is that the baby is still breach and she is facing the wrong way--towards my back which I've had happen before and is very painful to deliver!  Braden didn't turn until just a couple of weeks before delivery, so I'm not too concerned that she won't turn herself around.

The follow up ultrasound was really to check my placenta which started out low.  I was reassured by the Dr. that 99% of cases resolve themselves and that this would resolve itself to by the time I hit my 3rd trimester.  I left the ultrasound thinking that all was well with the placenta.  However, I wasn't feeling well as before mentioned and apparently came away with a mistaken notion.  The placenta is even lower giving rise to the very real possibility of having to have a c-section.  We'll just have to wait and see, and I'll be making plenty more trips back to have more ultrasounds in the next 9 weeks!

Fun times for me.  That would just be the icing on the cake if on my last baby (YES! this is the last one!) I had to have a c-section.

Oh, and the obstinate little child wouldn't even show her face.  So, I didn't even get a picture!
