I went to pick up the kids from karate tonight and was greeted by this little beauty on the front door step...only it was alive! The girls and I stood back and wondered what to do for several minutes before I got out my phone and called Brent, who was in the house. We wanted to come in through the garage, but Brent came charging out the front door excited and intent on examining and identifying our visitor. Allison and I chose to skip out on the festivities; although Allison was instructed to bring the identification book and a flashlight for closer inspection. After Brent discovered that it was a copperhead it required immediate dispatch. Allison was once again sent on an errand. This time to get a shovel with which to send the little creature back to meet his maker. For all of Allison's hysterics and drama she wasn't nearly as concerned for Brent's safety. She brought him one of the short handled kids' shovels. Who needs to keep a safe distance from this poisonous reptile--after all it's just a little thing! Pretty funny if you ask me. Brent and Savanna had a great time and had to document the evening with a photo.
